Fascinating and all too believable. A pity that this will have to be excluded from the book as even hyperlinks do not last.

The complete manuscript is nearly 170,000 words, and its publication is conditional upon me reducing it by about 1/3. Paper is expensive, which not only affects the book's sale price, but is also generally a gamble, as many readers will pick up such a long novel by an unknown author and it could end up costing rather than earning money.

How long is the ms? Page counts vary with font and paper size, but one calculation indicates that it would be almost 500 pages if it were printed in 12-point Arial using 1.5 spaces between the lines.

So, I have to take some parts out, and the publisher specifically said he wanted to shed the Prologue. A couple of leitmotifs will also have to be excised.

If it becomes successful, perhaps one day it could be reissued in a "complete edition," or - let me dream out loud - even produced as a film or TV series.
